Our Approach to Dispute Resolution
A message from Founder, Shannon Sears, MBA, JD
Mediation Goal: Mediation is about collaboration, not confrontation. It's an opportunity for you to take control of the process and the outcome, focusing on solutions that can benefit all parties moving forward.
Approach to Mediation: As a facilitative mediator, Shannon guides parties toward their own solutions rather than suggesting outcomes. She creates a structured environment for productive dialogue while remaining neutral. Her approach emphasizes active listening, reframing issues constructively, and helping parties explore creative options. In high-conflict situations, she maintains calm by acknowledging emotions while keeping discussions focused on interests rather than positions.
Qualifications and Experience: As a Collaborative Law trained attorney with over 15 years of experience, Shannon Sears brings extensive dispute resolution expertise to mediation. Her legal background includes advanced training in alternative dispute resolution and specialized training in family mediation. Licensed by the Texas State Bar since 2007, she maintains her qualifications through ongoing professional development in negotiation techniques, conflict resolution, and emerging mediation practices. Her collaborative approach helps parties navigate complex disputes while preserving relationships and achieving lasting resolutions.
Relevant Experience: Shannon brings extensive experience mediating divorces, custody arrangements, and substantial asset divisions.
